All Shall be Well:  Expressing Honest Lament and Tending Hope

A morning retreat with the live music of Ordinary Time

Environmental catastrophe, war, inequality, emotional and relational pain, deep loss  — is hope still tenable amidst all of this? Is “hope” just turning a blind eye to the hurting that is in and around us?

Following the way of the psalmists, who express anger, fear, and confusion, this morning retreat will move through orientation, disorientation, and reorientation. We will be invited to be honest in our venting, questioning and lamenting. We will join our voices to those of the psalmists who express pain in dialogue with God, and still hold to hope in a God who knows and loves us — the one in whom is our truest hope.

Our time of curious and creative reflection will be shaped around the live music of Ordinary Time (Peter La Grand, Jill McFadden, Ben Keyes) and facilitated by Tim Klauke.
